reflection 1

LO1 Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I have been able to learn that it is important to have balance within a team and the one person should not shoulder all the pressure, just because they are known as better players. It is crucial to divide the parts within a team evenly so that everyone has an equal chance at improving their badminton skills and gaining experience in playing against other school teams. I hope that through this activity, i am able to continuously work hard in achieving the things i aim for and through teamwork, perseverance and consistency, i am able to respected badminton captain.

LO2 Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

I am currently developing the skills that i have learnt over the years with the badminton coaches and with my fellow badminton peers. I have also been practicing with my teammate for doubles and making sure that we both know who is going to run to hit the shuttlecock as sometimes there can be miscommunication, resulting in a lost point.

LO4 Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

I am finding it quite difficult to maintain both consistently training for badminton twice a week and leaving enough time for work so that i can get a decent amount of hours of sleep. However, i have made a time plan which has allowed me to see where i need the most amount of hours of work and then sleeping early, so that i can wake up for training the next morning

LO1 Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I really wanted to consolidate and build on my badminton skills this term. I believe that I have achieved that this as i have seen improvement in game results compared to last year as i have been able to further learn and enhance my badminton skills. I was also given the chance at a leadership position for badminton, which made me incredibly proud of how my skills were able to be realised by those around me.

LO2 Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

I have learnt through playing badminton doubles, how important it is to trust your partner and be able to rely on them when you are unable to take the hit. Balanced teamwork is key so that if one person is hitting at the front, the other will be at the back and you interchange in order to cover all areas of the court. I think that through this activity, i have come to appreciate teamwork more and have been able see the importance of trusting your teammates. In the future, i will be able adapt the teamwork and leadership skills i have gained from badminton.

LO4 Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

I found it quite hard to wake up on time twice a week and be able to commit to both a sport, studying for exams as well as commitment to other clubs. Overall, once i was a 2 weeks into the routine, i was able to better organise my times better and therefore get an adequate amount of sleep the night before each training day.
